ARC Review: The Saint by Tiffany Reisz

Synopsis: Before she became Manhattan’s most famous dominatrix, Nora Sutherlin was merely a girl called Eleanor…

Rebellious, green-eyed Eleanor never met a rule she didn’t want to break. She’s sick of her mother’s zealotry and the confines of Catholic school, and declares she’ll never go to church again. But her first glimpse of beautiful, magnetic Father Marcus Stearns—Søren to her and only her—and his lust-worthy Italian motorcycle is an epiphany. Eleanor is consumed—yet even she knows being in love with a priest can’t be right.

But when one desperate mistake nearly costs Eleanor everything, it is Søren who steps in to save her. When she vows to repay him with complete obedience, a whole world opens before her as he reveals to her his deepest secrets that will change everything.

Danger can be managed—pain, welcomed. Everything is about to begin.

MY REVIEW: 5 out of 5 Stars

WOW! I am a huge fan of Ms. Reisz’s from the moment I read the Siren-there are only a few authors in my readings that I ever give a full 5 stars to and she is one of them. The synopsis is above, and I will not give away any spoilers, but this book was just as good as the rest of them. Ms. Reisz had my emotions on edge from the first paragraph….If you are at all familiar with the Original Sinners series and the are on Team Soren then you will understand what I mean.

Although, the story focuses on the early years of Nora and Soren’s relationship, there is a present day feel within the story. I enjoyed the way Ms. Reisz crafts the past into the present and it works. I do not think that the story would have been the same if it was done any other way. I loved learning about the way Soren prepped and molded Nora into what he needed and what she needed to be.

This is another hit for Ms. Reisz and with each novel and continuation of the story…I fall more in love with Soren. 🙂

Review- The British Billionaire Bachelor, Act 3 by Maggie Carpenter

The British Billionaire Bachelor, Act 3
by Maggie Carpenter

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Well we already know that I have dubbed Simon Sinclair the next book boyfriend and he doesn’t disappoint in this final piece of the Simon and Bella love story.  I really enjoyed the conclusion that Ms. Carpenter gives her readers. I liked how the reader is a part of the story line. We see Belle become even more independent and evolve into her submissiveness and role as Simon’s soon to be wife.

Another great aspect was the story line with Lucinda and Joseph and how Ms. Carpenter weaves their story into the main plot line. I silently cheered as Joseph took Lucinda over his knee the first time.  A great conclusion to a well-written trilogy.

If you love a good spanking story- this novel and the series in its entirety is for you.

ARC Review- Bonds of Denial by Lynda Aicher

Book five of Wicked Play

It’s been twenty years since Rockford Fielding’s father punished him for kissing another boy. Now a grown man with a military career behind him, Rock continues to deny his true desires, even while working security at The Den, the most decadent sex club in town. But after a year of watching gorgeous Carter Montgomery come and go on the arms of other men, Rock can no longer resist the cravings he’s denied for so long.

Carter has just four months left on his contract with an escort agency, and he doesn’t know whether to feel relieved or afraid. Being an escort is all he knows. Adding to his confusion is the way his latest client, the sexy but stoic Rock, makes him feel things he hasn’t wanted in years.

One charmingly awkward date turns into two and soon the men are meeting off the clock. But with Rock in the closet and Carter unsure how to pursue a real relationship, how can they build a future both in and out of the bedroom?

My Review:

It is not a surprise that I requested the fifth novel in the series. I have been granted an ARC copy of each of the four other novels. I have also enjoyed them but this novel is by far my favorite. The novel was enjoyable and entertaining but the message behind the struggles of the main male characters left me with new thoughts and opinions.

Attempting to maintain who you are and be true to yourself is put against the prejudices of a society that does not allow people to be who they are. The main characters battle within themselves, and with each other to accept who they truly are. With the strengths they find in each other and within themselves, Carter and Rock are able to fully understand the gravity of who they are and are able to accept that. Through each other, both characters propel themselves to new heights and new dreams.

I can’t say much more without giving any spoilers away, but I did really enjoy this m/m novel and look forward to more- we still have a few more partners to get through 🙂

ARC Review: A Million Guilty Pleasures by C. L. Parker

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

Two million dollars secured Noah Crawford the most enticing woman he has ever known. Initiating Delaine Talbot into a sensuous world of pleasure took them both to the brink—again and again. But when Noah discovers why the beautiful innocent sold her body to the highest bidder, he’s faced with the hardest thing he ever had to do: Set her free.

Lanie can’t believe Noah would let her go. Doesn’t he know they share a bond deeper than sex—a connection too powerful to sever? Not even a treacherous enemy out to destroy Noah or the dark secret haunting the multimillionaire can keep them apart. But first Lanie has to show him that he belongs to her, even if it means risking everything for a love that can never be bought or sold.

My Review:
I actually went a read the first novel before reviewing this one- it only makes sense! A Million Guilty Pleasures is the second book in the series and a continuation of the first novel. I am not into giving reviews with spoilers, but this novel was pretty damn good. It didn’t quite hit the 4 star rating for me because of the repetitive nature of the phrase “double agent coochie” it was funny the first few times in the first book, but I wanted Lanie to grow out of the phrase, as she grew into her independence more. Besides that- no complaints. I enjoyed the sex scenes, Noah is amazing! And the plot line came together leaving the reader a happy ending!

ARC Review: Wanted by J. Kenner

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Me comes an all-new erotic series of three enigmatic and powerful men, and the striking women who can bring them to their knees.

He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight.

And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same.

My Review:

It is no secret that I enjoyed Ms. Kenner’s Stark Trilogy, you can read my other advance reviews. I was surprised with this novel. Seeing another trilogy unfolding, I was curious as to what the author was going to do and where the plot line was going to go. I was thoroughly surprised. I believe I am going to enjoy this trilogy even more than her first.

The chemistry between the characters was hot, the sex scenes even hotter. Fighting a crush for most of her life, Lanie and Evan finally give into one another and along the way realize who they truly are and what they want in life. Again, I was rooting for Evan from the beginning! I think Ms. Kenner has the start of another wonderful trilogy on her hands.

Review- Queen of Storms by Ashen White

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Genre: Erotic Horror

about the book

Having the luck of the Irish, Gerry O’Keith has a beautiful fiancé, a high-paying job, a secluded lakeside summer cottage, and a big, black Harley. He also has a keen interest in fine art, and strange, arcane artefacts like Tarot cards. On a trip to the lake, he picks up a unique deck of Tarot cards from a strange, old gypsy – and very quickly learns there’s more to Tarot than meets the eye!

My Review:
Wow! I am not sure that there are enough words in my vocabulary to describe the artistic way Ashen strings together words to create such a vivid story. The descriptions are divine, the sex scenes hot and with a bite :). The story reads quick as you won’t put it down. Engaging, paranormal in the way the tarot elicits one’s ability to obsess, the Queen will not disappoint.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of the next story, Temptation, as we further our journey through the tarot deck.

ARC Review: Bonds of Hope by Lynda Aicher

Bonds of Hope by Lynda Aicher

My Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Wow! Just when I thought we had seen the last of the Doms of The Den…I was wrong. Lynda Aicher’s newest addition to the Wicked Play Series is as hot as the last three. I really, really, really enjoyed this one.

Quinn reminded me of myself in certain aspects, and the characterization was written well-enough that I really felt her fear and trepidation. Her growth at the end of the novel made me really like her.

Marcus. Hmm. What is it about Doms named Marcus? Hot, sexy and irresistible. Marcus’s dominance was apparent from the beginning and I truly enjoyed his character.

I read the novel in two days, only putting it down for some obligatory events…Aicher has another hit on her hands and I am hoping we see a few more novels in the series…she has so many more Dom/mes to chose from!

Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this follow up to The British Billionaire Bachelor, and was happy that I got a sneak peak. Simon is destined to fall into book boyfriend circles, and rivals the likes of Gideon Cross and Christian Grey, as I’ve said before in my other review. In this continuation, we see the character at Simon’s home, in his territory so to say. The plot line throws in a jealous and obsessed assistant-one bent on claiming Simon for herself. Simon also throws in a few surprises of his own including a BDSM dungeon that I want to claim for myself and an estate in the suburbs of London. Add in a twist of his lineage and the readers are in for a wonderful treat.

This is another wonderful read by Ms. Carpenter and I full believe readers will love Simon as much as I did. I am eagerly waiting for the third act of their story and anticipating Simon’s revenge. 🙂 Want to find out what I am talking about? Pick up this read and find out!

Review: The Inheritance (Elizabeth’s Education #2) by Maggie Carpenter

16121243The Inheritance (Elizabeth’s Education #2)
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Wow! I thought I loved Lord Michael in the first novel, I loved him even more in this one. He was a superb example of alpha male. The reader sees Elizabeth’s personal development during the first novel and that growth continues in the second novel as does her ability to be a successful submissive and ultimately wife. Lord Michael is the pillar of strength and consistency within her life as she is in his. When Lord Michael is away, Elizabeth tends to fall into a little trouble. However, the resulting scene was one of my favorite in the novel showing just how much I loved his character.

The ending was absolutely my favorite and that is all I can say without giving it away! The culmination of the first novel and Elizabeth’s education and training will draw the reader into the finality of the story. I was reading wishing I was Lord Michael’s. 🙂

Pick up this novel from Ms. Carpenter as she has crafted a well written and thoroughly enjoyable tale of submission, spankings and love.

Review: The British Billionaire by Maggie Carpenter

The British Billionaire
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Move over Gideon Cross and Christian Grey…we have a new gorgeous billionaire book boyfriend and he is here to stay.

Readers meet Simon Sinclair. A British Billionaire with a dominate side.
Enter Belle Sommers. A pretty real estate agent who likes to be spanked.

Simon employs Belle to help him purchase a secondary home in L.A. but what progresses is a love story fit to sit next to Day’s Crossfire Series and James’ trilogy. Ms. Carpenter takes the billionaire alpha male and puts her own spin on it, crafting yet another page turner; one I read in a day because I had to find out what happened. (I even emailed the author for an advanced copy of the second one due out at the end of August because I needed more Simon!)

I loved the chemistry between the main characters, Belle’s unsureness with the relationship as she didn’t want to be hurt and Simon’s struggles with accepting his growing feelings for Belle. The story pulls the reader into their world causing one to yearn for the love that is blatantly obvious among the characters. Even with Simon’s Alpha personality, Belle retains her individuality, not giving herself up completely; the ultimate submission without sacrifice.

This story is one to be read and I believe all readers will enjoy the story, the love and the spankings!
