Today we have fellow author Kayla Lords on the Blog! Kayla is the author of the Sir and Babygirl series and a new hot release coming out! Let’s see what Kayla has to share!
1) Tell us five random facts about yourself.
I don’t know how to swim or ride a bike.
I love avocados so much I’ll eat them plain.
I love going to flea markets and farmer’s markets just to walk around.
My dream home is a beach bungalow with a fantastic view of the water.
I knew from the time I was about 12 that when I had children I would name my daughter “Olivia” and then I had two boys and had no clue what to name them. Still no daughter – and no plans for one. This factory is closed.
2) Why did you begin writing?
I started writing in 2011, under my real name, to get myself through the craziness of divorce and the single parent life. At some point, I discovered sex blogs as well as erotic real life and fiction stories of bloggers, and a new world opened up. In 2012 when I decided my lack of orgasms and masturbation was a problem, I started my blog under the pen name of Kayla Lords. I’ve always had sexual scenes and fantasies playing through my mind. After the positive feedback from my readers – and my discovery of the BDSM lifestyle – I decided to finally move forward with writing and publishing my own stories.
3) What do you hope to achieve writing in the BDSM/erotic genre?
I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that I want to turn people on. But I write BDSM erotica for a very specific reason – to show readers what it can really look like. Sure, I take creative license with some scenes or just how quickly everyone seems to orgasm, but safe, sane, and consensual are always present, and I present most of my kinksters in a way that I think most people try to live the BDSM lifestyle.
4) Are you an active participant in the lifestyle or just an interested author?
Quite active. I’m a submissive, a babygirl, and a masochist who adores my Daddy Dom who’s also primal and sadistic. We’re a member of two local dungeons and we go to munches and other social gatherings as often as possible.
5) What do you believe is the hardest part of the writing process, specifically related to the BDSM genre?
The hardest part about writing is making it good and (for me) realistic. I want you to feel what they’re feeling, while understanding that what is happening really is possible..
6) Who are your inspirations? Mentors? Or favorite authors?
The people I meet online and in the local lifestyle are my biggest inspiration. My favorite authors aren’t BDSM writers but I love their style – Christine Feehan and Diana Gabaldon.
7) Do you write to entertain, to inform or both? How do you believe you accomplish this?
Definitely both. Ideally a reader will walk away from my book – or even a blog post – needing an orgasm and with a greater understanding of a D/s relationship. I’m not sure if I accomplish it as often as I’d like, but I simply write what turns me on (and as a highly sexual person, there’s plenty to choose from) as well as what I believe to be true between two kinky people in a relationship.
8) Share a few of your “bucket list” items?
Hmmm, never been much of a bucket list maker, but I’d have to say traveling to Europe, meeting my favorite authors (without squeeing and crying all over them), and completing a marathon would be on that list.
9) If you could have dinner with 3 people- past or present who would they be and why?
This sounds trite, but I’d love to have dinner with my father who died when I was 22, John Brownstone’s (he’s my Daddy Dom, y’all) grandmother who died several years ago, and my great-grandmother who died when I was 16. My father was one of the biggest influences on my life. John’s grandmother was a big influence for him. And my great-grandmother influenced many of the lives of people I care for. I’d love to sit down with them, talk to them, get their take on life, and soak in their wisdom. I’d also love to show my father that I really am making my childhood dreams of being a writer come true.
10) vanilla or chocolate? Chocolate, preferably dark
11) Snow or Beach? Beach
12) Sandals, boots or sneakers Flip-flops (I’m such a Florida girl)
13 ) lazy Saturdays: naked, sweats or full blown dressed NAKED
14) favorite food? My Mama’s fried chicken (have I mentioned I’m Southern?)
15) Favorite color? Purple
16) Favorite time of day? Anytime I have caffeine and silence to concentrate
17) Favorite season? Spring
18) Favorite pastime? Reading
19) Favorite drink? Iced tea
20) Tell us about what you are working on now?
For the first time, I’m not releasing an erotic romance between a M/F couple – which feels weird, but I’m very excited about it! I’m about to release Madame Gretchen, a fan pick from my blog. It’s about a Domme who runs a six-week class for kinksters interested in joining the local BDSM dungeon. For once, I’m letting fantasy rule because no dungeon I know of requires people to get naked and have erotic things happen to them in order to qualify for membership. But in Madame Gretchen’s class, that’s how she rolls.
I wrote it as a piece of flash fiction on my blog over a year ago. On a whim I set up a poll on my site for my readers to choose from one of four stories I’d written that they’d like to see made into a book. Madame Gretchen won. To say thank you, everyone who is subscribed to my blog on release day will receive the book for free.
21) Anything you want to tell us that we didn’t cover?
I’ve never left my roots when it comes to my site. Masturbation was an important part of my story in the beginning, and I’ve continued that with the creation of a weekly meme called Masturbation Monday (http://masturbationmonday.kaylalords.com). The idea is to get sex bloggers and erotic authors to share posts that are either about masturbation or so hot it makes the reader want to masturbate. I include a photo prompt each week to help writers who might be stuck. I started in September 2014 and we’re still going strong. About 5000 people come to the site each month just to read the posts and hopefully find something to inspire their sexual fantasies.
I discovered my love of writing at age seven and my sexual fantasies long before I reached adulthood. Now instead of experiencing sexual daydreams, I write them down and publish them for others to enjoy.
I write BDSM-themed erotica with a focus on dominance and submission (D/s). I not only want to turn my readers on, but I want them to realize that D/s is more than just a kink and isn’t scary or degrading.
An avid blogger, tweeter, and talker, I love interacting with my readers as much as possible!
Katie, a blogger recovering from a broken heart, has sworn off relationships, even though she misses being the babygirl to a strong Dominant man. Afraid to make another connection, she hides behind her blog.
Johnathan knows he’s no Dominant without a submissive. A few conversations with Katie, and he thinks he may have found the woman he needs and craves.
Will Katie and Johnathan find what they need in each other? Can they become Sir and Babygirl?
Join them as they embark on an adventure of the heart, mind, body, and soul with big doses of kinky, BDSM-filled sexual escapades along the way.

In the second set of adventures, Sir and Babygirl’s relationship, built on a mutual love of kink and a need for the dominance and submission lifestyle, must move forward or stagnate. Can Babygirl set aside her fears of heartbreak? Will Sir convince his sweet submissive that he loves her completely? And just how many erotic adventures can these two get into as they navigate their growing relationship?
Find out in the sequel to The Adventures of Sir and Babygirl. This time, Sir and Babygirl are Bound by Love.
