Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.
As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other. Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over two million reads on fan fiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release.
Ok, so we already know that we have an Alpha Male who likes to rip panties (oh wait we didn’t know that yet..) and we have a younger, intern lead lady. What we don’t know is how volatile and HOT their relationship actually is. I enjoyed the characterization of the two characters. Bennett is your typical Alpha male with money and power. Chloe is a smart-ass, no holds barred female lead. Bennett has a reputation to be a “bastard” and a player, Chloe supposedly the only person that can handle his abrupt personality.
When a single touch sends eight months of restraint out the door, the two begin an illicit affair that revolves around sex and nothing else…or so they tell themselves. Alone at a conference in CA, the two take a weekend to be together where their relationship progresses quickly into more than casual sex.
The novel is dominated by panty ripping, mind-blowing sex, passionate word exchanges, to say the least and a good plot. The only thing that did not make complete sense was the ability of Chloe to tell him off repeatedly and not lose her job. The sudden POV changes took a few chapters to get used too, but I highly recommend the novel to anyone looking for a good read.
I read the novel in about 4 hours and could not put it down. Not to mention, I needed to cool down a few times throughout the read!
Put this on your TBR list! It will be a success.
